Dr.S.Mahadevan (was born on 10.04.1974
Ponnmaravathi, Pudukottai District.
Education:
He was educated at St.Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai from 1992- 1998 for his undergraduation, postgraduation and M.Phil programme in Tamil. He was awarded Doctoral Degree in Tamil in 2010 for his thesis titled on “The Creative Writings of Vannadasan”. He clearedUGC NET in 1997.
Dean of Arts & Head of the Department of Tamil:
He joined Sadakathullah Appa College,
Tirunelveli, as Lecturer in Tamil on 10.07.1998. He is heading the Department
of Tamil since 2004. He was promoted as Associate Professor of Tamil and was
nominated as Dean of Arts.
Editor:
He
has co-ordinated 12 National and International seminars / conferences on varied
topics. He has edited 28 books which include textbooks, collection of
poems and conference proceedings.

Poihai
Azhwar & Boothathalwar:
Two
of his books titled “Poihai Azhwar” and “Boothathalwar” were
released at the IXth World International Conference by Datto S. Samy
Vellu, President of Malaysian Indian Conference, in the presence of Hon’ble Prime
Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak.
Vannadasan
& Erai Arul Kavi Mani K. Abdul Gafoor:
His books on Vannadhasan and Abdul
Gafoor titled “Vannadhasan” and “Erai Arul Kavi Mani K. Abdul
Gafoor respectively were jointly released by School of Indian Languages,
University of Malaya and Annamalai University, Chidambaram in 2016. The writer
Vannadhasan belongs to Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has written 170 short
stories and 1000 modern poems in Tamil. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in
2016 for his short story collection titled “Oru Siru Isai”. Prof.K.Abdul Gafoor
was born in Thuckalay in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. He was a notable
scholar, poet, orator and writer.

Melum Publisher, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu in 2017. The reviews on the poems were
featured in Tamil Dailies Weeklies and Monthlies like Kumudam and Kanayali.

His
seventh book titled “The Voice of Time” was published by Mahabarathi
Publications, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu in 2018. His writings have been uploaded
on Chemmozhi Tamil.com and Mahabarathi Blot Sopt.com.
Minor
Research Project:
He had been sanctioned a Minor
Research Project in the year 2009 by the University Grants Commission, New
Delhi, amounting to Rs. 60,000/- The topic was “Nature in Vannadhasan’s
Writings” The project report was uploaded on Inflipnet, the official website of
Human Resource Development Centre, Govt. of India. An ISSN E-Journal
“Padhivugal” published from Canada has published his research articles on
various topics.
